Bring your laptop and build an Expert Advisor for Phillip MetaTrader 5 (MT5) in this hands-on workshop. The speaker, Mr Chen Yurui, will guide you through using a large language model (LLM) to create an EA that can monitor the market and automatically place and manage trades according to predefined rules.

  • Define: Turn Your Trading Idea into Trading Strategy
  • Build: Use AI to Convert Strategy into Your MT5 Expert advisors
  • Compile: Install and Troubleshoot Your EA
  • Test: Whether Your EA Works as Expected

You will follow the complete process step by step. This includes turning a trading idea into an algorithmic trading strategy, generating the EA code, installing and running it on Phillip MetaTrader 5 and backtesting it. Participants who complete the workshop are expected to understand a complete approach of how to develop their own EA.

No programming experience is required, although trading knowledge will be helpful. The EA created during the workshop is for educational purposes only. It is not endorsed or recommended for live trading, and its performance or profitability is not guaranteed. Any EA should be carefully tested and evaluated before it is considered for live use.

Note: Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with Phillip MetaTrader 5 installed and a Phillip MT5 demo account ready to use. A free demo account can be registered via the Phillip Nova website.

Mr Chen Yurui is a finance graduate from the National University of Singapore and a CFA Level III candidate. He specialises in algorithmic trading, with a strong focus on MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisors. He has hands-on experience in developing, testing, and optimising algorithmic trading strategies, and applies a practical approach to helping traders understand how automated trading can support decision-making.

Important (Please read)

 

  • Seats with tables are limited to first 40 who arrive; beyond that you can watch the speaker walk through the steps.

 

  • You need to come with your own fully-charged laptop computer capable of running MT5 for 2 hours.

  • You need to have installed Phillip Nova MT5 and their demo account.

 

 

  • You need to have access to an AI chat like ChatGPT or Claude; free account is acceptable.

 

  • Wifi will be provided but be ready to hotspot to your mobile phone if Wifi speed is too slow.
